Drone / UAV Design Engineer
Join our R&D team to design, develop, prototype and test advanced UAV platforms, from system sizing and CAD to flight testing.
What you'll do
- Design multirotor, fixed-wing, VTOL and hybrid UAVs.
- Size airframes, propulsion, batteries, ESCs, flight controllers and payloads.
- Create 3D models, assemblies, drawings, GD&T and BOMs.
- Develop lightweight structures using composites, carbon fibre, aluminium and plastics.
- Optimise motors, propellers, ESCs and batteries for thrust, power and endurance.
- Perform load, stress, vibration, FEA and CG assessments.
- Support fabrication, prototyping, and thrust, ground, vibration and flight testing.
- Integrate flight controllers, GPS, IMU, telemetry, sensors and payloads.
- Improve UAV reliability, performance, manufacturability and cost.
- Maintain CAD, drawings, BOMs, test reports and production documentation.
What we're looking for
- B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical, Aerospace/Aeronautical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electronics, Electrical or a related field.
- 1–5 years of experience in UAV/drone, aerospace, robotics, automotive or product design.
- Strong CAD skills with SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, Fusion 360, AutoCAD or equivalent.
- Knowledge of UAV architecture, aerodynamics, propulsion, structures, materials and FEA.
- Hands-on prototyping, testing, 3D printing, CNC or composite fabrication is preferred.
- Freshers with strong UAV projects and hands-on experience may also be considered.
