Robotic Joint Actuators with Frameless Motors
EYDelta robotic actuators combine a frameless BLDC motor with integrated gearing in one compact joint, delivering up to 75 Nm of peak torque at just 650 g for robotic arms, mobile and legged robots, and automation.
Built around a frameless motor
A frameless motor is supplied as a separate stator and rotor, without its own housing, shaft or bearings. In our actuators, the frameless BLDC motor is built directly into the actuator body and shares its structure and bearings with the gearbox.
Removing the duplicate frame saves weight and length, so more of the actuator's mass goes into producing torque. The result is a high torque-to-weight ratio in a compact joint.

Two torque classes, ready to integrate
EYD 78-39-ST: 39:1 gear ratio, 22 Nm rated and 56 Nm peak torque, 590 g, 93% peak efficiency.
EYD 100-25-ST: 25:1 gear ratio, 25 Nm rated and 75 Nm peak torque, 650 g, 94% peak efficiency, with higher output speed.
Custom actuators and integrated drives
Need a different torque, speed, gear ratio or control interface? We design the frameless motor, gearing and motor controller together as one integrated drive, and simulate electromagnetic, thermal and structural behaviour before building hardware.

Frequently asked questions
What is a frameless motor?
A frameless motor is an electric motor supplied as just a stator and a rotor, without its own housing, shaft or bearings. It is built directly into the machine it drives, which saves space and weight.
Do EYDelta robotic actuators use frameless motors?
Yes. Each EYDelta robotic actuator is built around a frameless BLDC motor integrated with the gearbox in a single housing.
How much torque do EYDelta robotic actuators produce?
The EYD 78-39-ST delivers 22 Nm rated and 56 Nm peak torque. The EYD 100-25-ST delivers 25 Nm rated and 75 Nm peak torque.
Can you build a custom robotic actuator?
Yes. Tell us your torque, speed, size and interface requirements through our Build Your Motor form or at [email protected], and our engineers will propose a design.
Need a motor built to your spec?
Share your requirements and our engineers will recommend the right motor, or design one for you.
